The webinar will aim to provide approximately 100-150 women, all beneficiaries of either
AuthorAID or Mawazo, with an opportunity to (1) share their experiences as women
researchers working across the developing world and (2) discuss strategies for addressing
the challenges they face in common.
Event Outline
The event will have 3 main sections:
First, attendees will watch a short video featuring a group of inspiring women in
research answering the question “What advice would you give your younger self as a
woman researcher?”
Second, attendees will hear from two accomplished researchers, Dr. Zainab Yunusa
Kaltungo and Dr. Marilyn Ronoh, who will give brief presentations about key issues
facing women researchers in the developing world.
Third, attendees will be assigned to facilitated breakout groups where they will be able to discuss their reflections, thoughts, and questions on topics raised by the video, the speakers, and their own personal experiences.
