Tufts University Employment Opportunities 2026

Global Impact Project Support Internship 2026

The Global Impact Project Support Internship 2026 is an internship offered by Global Impact, open to undergraduate students, master’s students, early-career researchers, and recent graduates in social sciences, business and economics, law and governance, interdisciplinary studies, and humanitarian affairs and fundraising. Based in Washington, DC, with a hybrid arrangement requiring at least one in-office day per week, the internship runs approximately four months with the possibility of extension and provides hands-on experience in humanitarian fundraising, nonprofit management, corporate social responsibility, philanthropy, and international development through research, client engagement, communications, project coordination, and fundraising strategy development.

Applicants must be current students or recent graduates with a demonstrated interest in international development, humanitarian response, fundraising, CSR, or nonprofit management, strong writing, communication, organizational, research, and time management skills, and U.S. work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available. Preferred skills include research and data analysis, client support, Microsoft Office proficiency, and familiarity with Asana or similar project management tools. The internship is paid, with a stipend ranging approximately from USD 6,480 to USD 11,664 depending on weekly schedule.

University of Florence PhD Programmes 2026/2027.

The University of Florence 2026/2027 PhD Programmes are a fellowship for master’s students, PhD applicants, early-career researchers, and postgraduate researchers across agriculture and food security, climate and environment, engineering and technology, health sciences, humanities and arts, natural sciences, law and governance, social sciences, STEM, and interdisciplinary fields.

Located in Italy and open to international candidates, the programmes provide advanced doctoral training and supervised research in areas such as engineering, medicine, environmental sciences, agriculture, economics, humanities, social sciences, architecture, and information technology, with benefits that may include fully funded PhD scholarships, tuition fee waivers, a monthly stipend, research and mobility funding, and access to research facilities and international collaborations (funding varies by programme and doctoral school).

COP31 Simulation Programme 2026 – Road to Antalya, Türkiye 

The COP31 Simulation Programme 2026 is a workshop offered by the British University in Egypt in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Egypt, open to undergraduate and master’s students, PhD students, early-career researchers, and youth climate leaders in climate and environment, law and governance, social sciences, STEM, and interdisciplinary fields, with participation from Egypt, across Africa, and internationally.

The programme simulates United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP) negotiations ahead of COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye, providing online climate diplomacy and negotiation training, policy research and mentorship, simulation conference activities, networking with global climate experts, and opportunities for selected participants to engage with actual COP processes and international climate platforms.

Applicants should be university students or recent graduates with demonstrated interest in climate action, sustainability, climate diplomacy, international policy, or environmental governance, and possess strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. Benefits include official certification in climate diplomacy and advocacy, international negotiation skills, and climate policy research, plus capacity-building, mentorship, international networking exposure, and potentially funded participation for activities in Egypt and linked COP31 engagement.

Foresight Fellowship 2026 

The Foresight Fellowship is a year-long programme by the Foresight Institute that supports exceptional scientists, technologists, entrepreneurs, and researchers working on frontier technologies with long-term societal impact.

The fellowship brings together emerging innovators across fields such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, neurotechnology, nanotechnology, longevity research, climate technologies, and space innovation. Participants engage in collaborative research communities, mentorship, technical discussions, networking events, and innovation-focused retreats, gaining access to the Institute’s global network of researchers, funders, founders, and policy leaders.

Eligibility is open globally to students, researchers, entrepreneurs, engineers, scientists, and independent innovators who demonstrate strong interest or experience in frontier technologies, show potential in research or technical leadership, and commit to advancing positive societal impact. African applicants are eligible.

The programme primarily offers mentorship, community access, networking, and participation in workshops and retreats; it does not clearly state direct grant funding or stipends for all fellows, though some travel support may be available for selected in-person activities.

Environmental Justice Postdoctoral Fellow – University of Michigan 2026.

The Environmental Justice Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) is a full-time fellowship for postdoctoral and early-career researchers in climate and environment, humanities and arts, social sciences, law and governance, and interdisciplinary fields, located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. The fellow will conduct independent humanities-focused research at the intersection of environmental justice, climate justice, education, and public scholarship, while contributing to mentorship, curriculum development, and collaborative public-impact projects under the mentorship of Kyle Whyte, in collaboration with faculty, students, and community partners.

Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant field completed within four months of the fellowship start date, demonstrate strong humanities-based environmental justice research, commit to public scholarship and humanities education, and submit a cover letter, CV, a writing sample or artistic production, and three professional references; scholars working on climate justice, Indigenous environmental issues, biodiversity loss, environmental inequities, community resilience, public humanities, and environmental storytelling are particularly suited. The fellowship provides an annual salary of USD 65,000, mentorship, professional development support, and access to University of Michigan research networks and facilities. UN ECOSOC Consultative Status for NGOs and Civil Society Organizations 2026.

The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Consultative Status 2027 review cycle is an accreditation and international policy engagement opportunity open to NGOs, civil society organizations, community-based organizations, youth-led organizations, and nonprofit institutions working in law and governance, social sciences, climate and environment, health sciences, education, humanities and arts, and interdisciplinary fields, with remote, Africa-wide, and global reach.

Successful applicants gain official UN consultative status, granting access to UN meetings, the right to submit written and oral statements, organize side events, engage with government delegations, participate in global policy dialogues, and increase international visibility; no direct funding is provided. Applicants must be legally registered nonprofit or non-governmental organizations that have existed for at least two years, have a democratically adopted constitution, demonstrate transparent decision-making and accountability, show relevance to the UN’s mission, and maintain an established headquarters.

Postdoctoral Research Associate – Political Parties in Africa and Democracy (PPADEM) Project

The Department of History, Political Science and Public Administration at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is inviting applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Research Associate position under the Political Parties in Africa and Democracy (PPADEM) project. This international collaboration involves KNUST, the University of Strathclyde, the University of Bristol, and the University of Reading, and examines the role of political parties in democratic progress and decline across Africa through large-scale empirical research and cross-national data collection.

The successful candidate will contribute to survey design, fieldwork, comparative political analysis, publication development, stakeholder engagement, and limited teaching activities. Applicants must hold a PhD in Political Science or a closely related discipline, demonstrate skills in survey design, survey data analysis, and comparative politics research, and have strong English proficiency. Desirable qualifications include expertise in African politics, elections, political parties, or public opinion research, as well as qualitative methods and research coordination experience.

Applicants cannot be employed full-time at KNUST or another public university during the fellowship. While the exact stipend amount is not publicly specified, benefits include participation in a major ERC-supported research project, publication and conference opportunities, international collaboration, professional development, and limited teaching experience.

University of Udine PhD Programmes – 42nd Cycle (2026/2027)

The University of Udine’s 42nd Cycle PhD fellowship (2026/2027) is open to master’s students, early-career researchers, PhD applicants, and postgraduate researchers in disciplines spanning engineering, health sciences, natural sciences, agriculture & food security, climate & environment, humanities & arts, law & governance, social sciences, STEM, and interdisciplinary studies.

Based in Italy and international, it offers three-year fully supervised doctoral research in 12 areas: Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Food Science, Agricultural Biotechnology, Law, Medicine, Environmental Sciences, Humanities, Mathematics, Physics, and Linguistics. Applicants must hold a master’s (or equivalent, subject to committee equivalency assessment for non-EU candidates), submit a research proposal, CV, and academic records, and meet programme-specific and language requirements; non-EU candidates must demonstrate English and technical competence in a remote oral exam and, once admitted, obtain a study visa.

Fully-funded flagship scholarships cover three years with a monthly stipend (tailored to the programme), a 10% annual budget for research and training, and a 50% stipend increase for research periods abroad exceeding 30 days; international candidates also receive increased abroad stipends and professional development support. A pre-evaluation procedure for foreign qualifications is available online from 1 February to 31 May 2026; the selection process combines document evaluation and a remote oral exam. Gender and Learning Evidence Fund 2026

The Gender and Learning Evidence Fund is a grant offered by the Brink Foundation with support from the Gates Foundation, and it accepts applications from organizations working in the disciplines of education, social sciences, interdisciplinary studies, law and governance, and STEM (general). Projects may be Africa-wide or specifically located in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, South Africa, Ethiopia, Senegal, Mozambique, or Côte d’Ivoire.

The opportunity is open to early-career researchers, postdoctoral researchers, research organizations, NGOs and civil society organizations, and academic institutions. The fund aims to strengthen evidence on how gender and learning outcomes interact in education systems across Sub-Saharan Africa by supporting implementation research that integrates gender equality and education interventions to improve long-term life outcomes for learners. Selected organizations receive funding, technical assistance, and opportunities for collaboration through a learning cohort, with priority given to projects working with learners at critical transition stages(particularly Grades 4–6 and Grades 7–9)where gender disparities in education often widen.

Eligible applicants must be registered organizations (not individuals) operating in eligible Sub-Saharan African countries that already implement gender-focused programmes, education/learning programmes, or integrated gender and learning initiatives; they must focus on in-school learners and propose practical implementation research in real-world settings. Eligible organization types include NGOs and nonprofits, academic institutions, government agencies, faith-based organizations, multilateral institutions, and social enterprises and for-profit organizations, and multi-country and consortium applications are encouraged. Grants provide up to USD 250,000 for a duration of up to 24 months, along with additional support such as technical assistance, research design support, monitoring and evaluation support, policy engagement and dissemination support, and participation in a collaborative learning cohort.

Call for Papers: Women in Leadership – Accelerating Development Outcomes Conference 2026

The African Center for Economic Transformation, in partnership with leading global institutions, is inviting submissions for the Women in Leadership: Accelerating Development Outcomes Conference 2026, to be held on 10–11 September 2026 at the London School of Economics (LSE) in London, with hybrid participation available.

The conference aims to bring together researchers, academics, policymakers, and development practitioners to strengthen evidence on how women’s leadership influences development outcomes and identify effective strategies for advancing inclusive leadership globally. Organizers are particularly interested in research focused on barriers to women’s leadership, policies and interventions advancing women’s leadership, impacts of women’s leadership on development outcomes, gender-responsive governance and policy systems, and economic transformation and inclusive leadership.

Submissions may include extended abstracts of up to 500 words or full research papers. While no direct funding amount is specified, benefits include the opportunity to present research at an international conference, networking with global researchers and policymakers, contributing to evidence-based policy discussions on women’s leadership, and hybrid participation access.

Call for Application: The Conservation, Food and Health Foundation Grants

The Conservation, Food and Health Foundation is accepting applications from researchers and organizations from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, and the Middle East to promote public health. The Foundation supports projects and applied research that aim to;

  • Generates local or regional solutions to problems affecting environmental quality and human life.
  • Advance local leadership and promote professional development in the conservation, agricultural, and health sciences,
  • Develop the capacity of local organizations and coalitions, and address challenges in the field.

This opportunity is open to organizations that can provide evidence of their non-governmental status or charitable purpose, including non-governmental organisations, nonprofit organisations, civil society organisations, community-based organisations, and colleges, universities, and other academic institutions.

There is no minimum or maximum grant size. It is anticipated that most grants will fall in the $25,000-$50,000 per year range.

Green Microbiology Summit 2026.

The Green Microbiology Summit 2026 is a hybrid workshop/conference organized by the Society for Green Microbiology, open to undergraduate and master’s students, PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, early-career researchers, and industry professionals in climate and environment, natural sciences, agriculture and food security, health sciences, engineering and technology, STEM, and interdisciplinary fields, held in-person at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria, and virtually for global and Africa-wide participants.

Taking place from 15–18 July 2026, it aims to launch the field of Green Microbiology, covering sustainable food systems, climate resilience, renewable energy, water purification, circular bioeconomy, AI in microbial science, and environmental biotechnology through keynotes, research presentations, policy dialogues, and networking. No direct funding is provided, but benefits include international networking, presentation opportunities, and Founding Contributor recognition. Cartier Women’s Initiative Science & Technology Pioneer Award 2027 

The Cartier Women’s Initiative is now accepting applications for its 2027 Science & Technology Pioneer Award, a global program designed to support women impact entrepreneurs who are leading breakthrough scientific and technological innovations. The award seeks women founders of deep-tech and science-driven ventures based on original research, advanced technologies, or complex innovations requiring substantial R&D and long commercialization cycles.

Eligible applicants must identify as women, lead or co-found a legally registered impact-driven business, demonstrate significant ownership and decision-making authority, and show measurable social or environmental impact. African women entrepreneurs are welcome to apply, as are applicants from all countries and sectors.

Selected fellows receive financial support—USD 100,000 for first place, USD 60,000 for second, and USD 30,000 for third—along with executive leadership training, mentorship, media coaching, international exposure, and lifelong access to the Cartier Women’s Initiative community. Additional benefits include the INSEAD Women’s Impact Entrepreneurship Programme.

The World Around Young Climate Prize Cycle 03 (2026)

The World Around is inviting applications for Cycle 03 of the Young Climate Prize, a global mentorship and award programme supporting young leaders under 25 who are developing innovative, community-rooted climate solutions. The programme recognizes self-initiated, practical, locally grounded, and scalable projects addressing climate change in areas such as waste management, alternative fuels, climate storytelling, food systems, ecology, sustainable architecture, material innovation, and community resilience.

Twenty-five finalists (“25 Under 25”) will participate in a three-month Design Academy, receive mentorship from global designers and climate leaders, attend workshops and storytelling training, gain international networking opportunities, and receive public exposure through climate and design platforms. Selected winners will present their work at The World Around Summit 2027 in New York City during Earth Week.

Applicants must be between 13 and 25 years old, founders or co-founders of an active climate-related project with measurable community impact, and must submit a short video presentation along with supporting written or visual materials. Teams of up to three members may apply if all meet the age criteria. Applications are open globally, including African applicants. Participation is free, and benefits include one-on-one mentorship, climate leadership training, access to the Design Academy, global visibility, an international peer network, potential travel support to New York City, and continued participation in the Young Climate Prize Fellowship community for three years after the programme.

Displaced Livelihoods Initiative (DLI) Call for Proposals – Round V 2026

The Displaced Livelihoods Initiative (DLI) 2026 Call for Proposals is a grant offered by Innovations for Poverty Action and the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab, with support from the IKEA Foundation. It accepts applications from researchers in the social sciences, law and governance, business and economics, interdisciplinary studies, and other fields such as humanitarian and displacement research. Projects may be Africa-wide, global, or remote, and the opportunity is open to PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, early-career and mid-career researchers, and academic researchers. DLI funds rigorous research and evidence generation on sustainable livelihoods for displacement-affected populations—refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons, and host communities—with priority themes of resilience, entrepreneurship, wage employment, social cohesion, inclusion, rights and regulations, and sustainable livelihoods programming. Available grant categories and their maximum funding are: exploratory grants (USD 10,000), pilot studies (USD 75,000), full impact evaluations (USD 250,000), infrastructure and public goods projects (USD 250,000), evidence-use grants (USD 20,000), and conference travel grants (USD 4,000). To be eligible, applicants must be part of a research team that includes at least one university-affiliated researcher, demonstrate experience in research or policy-related work, focus on displacement-affected populations and livelihoods, align proposals with DLI research priorities, and ensure ethical research practices and required approvals. Priority is given to researchers with lived experience of displacement, refugee-led organizations, and diverse, interdisciplinary research teams.

TWAS–Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme 2026 

The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), in partnership with the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), offers the TWAS–CUHK Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme for early-career researchers from developing countries. The fellowship enables researchers to undertake postdoctoral research in natural sciences and related fields,including biological sciences, physical sciences, mathematical sciences, engineering and technology, environmental sciences, and medical and health sciences at CUHK for up to two years.

Fellows work under established researchers, strengthening their scientific expertise, international collaborations, and research capacity. Eligibility requires applicants to be nationals of developing countries, hold a PhD in a relevant field, be no older than 45 at the deadline, not hold temporary or permanent residency in Hong Kong or mainland China, be regularly employed in a developing country with a research assignment there, provide an official acceptance letter from a CUHK host supervisor, and demonstrate English proficiency.

African applicants are eligible and encouraged to apply. Benefits include a monthly stipend from CUHK covering living expenses, accommodation, and food, along with research and training opportunities, international collaboration, and mentorship. The stipend is not intended for dependents or extensive personal expenses.

University of Melbourne Human Rights Scholarship 2026

The University of Melbourne Human Rights Scholarship 2026 is a fellowship for master’s and PhD students, early-career researchers, and postgraduate researchers in law and governance, social sciences, humanities and arts, interdisciplinary studies, and human rights. Open to both domestic and international applicants, it supports a Master’s by Research or PhD that advances human rights through research, advocacy, or community engagement.

Applicants must have applied for or received an offer for a graduate research degree, intend to research human rights, demonstrate commitment beyond academia (via voluntary work, professional experience, or advocacy), and not already hold a qualification at the same or higher level. The fully funded award covers full tuition, a living allowance of approximately AUD 44,500 per year (total value AUD 89,000–155,000), a relocation grant (AUD 2,000 domestic, AUD 3,000 international), and Overseas Student Health Cover for international students requiring a visa. Funding lasts up to two years for a master’s and up to 3.5 years for a PhD.
